It is the mission of the City of St. Louis Family Court – Juvenile Division to administer justice with compassion, dignity and respect and in a manner that promotes child protection, safe communities, and juvenile competency through holding juveniles accountable, repairing harm to victims, and strengthening families.

MHB has invested in the Family Subcontracted Services for family court involved juveniles and their families referred for specific behavioral interventions, as well as psychological assessments and services for these youth.

The mission of BBBS is to provide a mentor for every child who wants and needs one.

MHB has invested in a program with BBBS - Loyola Academy after school mentoring helps youth remain engaged with a mentor to stay alcohol, tobacco and drug free.

The mission of Boys & Girls Town is to improve the lives of children with emotional and behavioral problems through superior, family-focused services. Their treatment programs employ a strength-based approach, which help each child discover the talents & strengths in themselves. By reinforcing positive behaviors, they help children improve their self-esteem and develop positive relationships with their peers and families.

The program invested in by MHB focuses on targeted behavioral management to increase the stability of foster home environments and decrease the number of placements a child experiences.

Bridgeway strives to improve the mental, spiritual and physical health of the individuals and communities they serve.

MHB has invested in a program at Bridgeway, in partnership with St. Louis Public Schools, that provides intervention treatment, monitoring, and aftercare support services for identified drug users within the alternative school system with weekly in-school programming.

CDCA provides leadership and innovation in promoting quality child care, successful early childhood development and work/family balance.

The program invested in by MHB is a research-based curriculum training and on-site consultation for early childhood professionals who work with children at risk of being expelled from child care due to problem behaviors.

Children's Advocacy Services is affiliated with the Psychology Department in University of Missouri at St. Louis (UMSL) and is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance (NCA).  They work with children from ages 3 through 17 who have experienced any kind of trauma and provide an array of services including forensic interview, medical examinations, and counseling. Their mission is to reduce the effects of trauma experienced by children and adolescents in the Greater St. Louis community.

MHB has invested in two programs:

  • To help parents manage their children’s disruptive behavior by first enhancing the parent/child relationship to promote more positive interactions and secondly, by instructing parents in positive discipline techniques. 
  • To provide integrated treatment for children up through age 18 who have experienced extreme and/or repeated trauma.

Community Alternatives' main mission is to help those with mental illnesses who find themselves homeless, drug dependent, in gripping poverty and feel that the world has turned its back on them.

MHB has invested in two programs:

  • A program that uses a collaborative problem-solving approach to parent training that has been proven to be effective as a prevention strategy for at-risk populations, and as a treatment intervention for parents with children who already exhibit conduct problems.
  • A project that uses the Multi-Systemic Therapy approach to working with older youth and teens who have experience serious emotional disturbances and who are involved with Juvenile or Family Court.

Covenant House Missouri provides shelter and supportive services to homeless, runaway and at-risk youth with absolute respect and unconditional love, opening doors for homeless youth.

MHB has invested in a program that develops a comprehensive Community Service Center, youth development programs, temporary shelter and supportive services for homeless or disconnected youth.

Discovering Options provides at-risk students with supportive and life-enriching programs to prevent drug abuse. 

MHB has invested in a program for at risk 4th and 5th grade students at selected elementary schools to remain engaged with a mentor and remain alcohol, tobacco and drug free.

Edgewood Children's Center is committed to the care and treatment of children with severe emotional, behavioral and communication disorders, particularly those who are autistic or diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. They also work directly with families who live with Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) children by providing them professional services.

The program MHB has invested in offers individualized language arts tutoring program for children grades K-3 who are behind in their reading skills and comprehension.

Family Resource Center’s mission is to prevent and treat all forms of child abuse and neglect by strengthening families through family-centered therapeutic, educational and support services.

MHB has invested in two programs:

  • The Parenting & Education Support Project offers a combination of a comprehensive parent and family assessment, followed by individualized in-home and/or center-based counseling, parent group education, and the assistance of a family support worker.
  • The Therapeutic Preschool – Day Treatment program is designed to provide specialized day treatment with children three to six years of age who are experiencing serious emotional disturbance and behavioral problems, with a focus to reduce or alleviate their emotional/behavioral problems to enable stabilization within the home environment.

Fathers' Support Center (FSC) partnered with the State of Missouri Department of Social Services, helps to support fathers who are unemployed or underemployed to impact the outcomes for these fathers and their children.

The program MHB has invested in The Family Formation Program which teaches parents five major components:  1) modeling: rules, behaviors and values; 2) teaching self-discipline; 3) process of discipline and consequences of behavior; 4) ignoring and providing praise for specific behavior, and 5) solution building – problem-solving techniques.

 

Harmony in Life

Harmony in Life specializes in providing behavioral health services and family supports to Bosnian, former Yugoslavian, and other foreign-born immigrants new to the City of St. Louis.

This project assists Bosnian, former Yugoslavian, and other immigrant high school-aged youth to improve their academic success, school attendance, and their adjustment to the U.S. culture.

Kids In the Middle is a nonprofit organization that provides counseling, education and support for kids and families when parents decide to separate and divorce.

MHB has invested in two programs:

  • This program provides on-site group counseling in St. Louis Public Schools for children whose families are in transition.
  • A program for parents to be able to parent together after separation or divorce.

Living Word Apostolic Church of University City Missouri started has become a full service drug and violence prevention agency, serving the St. Louis Public Schools.

MHB has invested in a program called Friends with a Better Plan which helps students remain alcohol, tobacco and drug free and engaged in at least two new interests at end of school year.

Marion Middle School's mission is to foster the academic, emotional, spiritual and physical development of economically disadvantaged adolescent girls of all religious, racial and ethnic backgrounds through a full range of educational settings.

The program MHB has invested in provides academic support and college preparedness to graduates in their high school setting. Additionally, the project commits to increase enrollment at Marian Middle School, a Nativity School that serves economically disadvantaged adolescent girls so that they will be prepared to begin and complete high school.

NBA ECHO serves abused and neglected boys, ages 8-19, from the St. Louis metropolitan area and accepts boys of any race, sex, or religion. NBA ECHO provides emergency, short-term and long-term residential treatment.

The program that MHB has invested in supports students at St. John the Baptist High School to successfully complete each grade and achieve graduation. The program focuses on supporting school staff to develop leadership and self-directedness in their students.

Northside Community Center's mission is to enhance the quality of life of clients by serving the basic needs of the elderly, children and families in the St. Louis Metropolitan area by providing: Access to education, counseling and health services; recreation and social program; and daily nutritional meals.

MHB invests in a dropout prevention program for at risk students at Beaumont High School.

Our Little Haven is committed to providing a safe, secure and healing environment for children suffering from the tragedy of abuse and neglect. Their dedicated and compassionate community of caregivers makes the hurting stop, the healing begin and the love last, one child at a time.

The program that MHB has invested in - The Parent Learning Program, incorporates three approaches to parent learning: group therapy/education, traditional individual and family outpatient therapy, psychological assessment, parenting assessments.

Another program MHB has invested in helps young St. Louis children with SED become stabilized through child therapy, psychological assessment, psychiatric consultation and PCIT.

MHB has in invested in a the program Heritage House which supports supervised visitation and safe custody exchange for separated parents under court order so that youth will experience stress-free visits with non-cusodial parents.

The mission of the St. Louis Internship Program is to provide hope, support, assistance and inspiration to high school students with financial and other needs so that they can obtain summer internships in professional settings and develop life skills necessary to expand their educational and employment opportunities.

MHB has invested in a program that provides a pre-Internship component for 9th grade students in St. Louis Public Schools.
